MRUTHYUNJAYA TEMPLE
Sri Mrithunjaya Temple is located in small village Badagarakeri in Virajpet Taluka. This temple belongs to God Shiva and popular temple locally. Sri Mrithunjaya Temple is surrounded by coffee plantation in the spacious place, and it’s a beautiful temple situated in a peaceful area.
TEA ESTATE IN COORG
The Glenlorna Tea Plantation Estate lies at an impressive elevation of 808 m, surrounded by the famed fauna and flora of the Western Ghats. Spread over an area of about 1200 acres, Glenlorna is well- renowned for its impressive tea production. There is a tea processing factory here and is the only tea estate with a processing unit in the Coorg district. The Glenlorna estate gets an abundance of rainfall and is not only famous for its tea, but also pepper crops and areca nuts.
Irpu falls
Irpu Falls is yet another beautiful waterfalls in the Coorg or Kodagu district. The falls are formed as River Lakshmanthirta descends for over 65 meters. According to the legends, this place has its roots into the Ramayana era. It is believed that Lord Rama and Lakshmana passed this way when they were in search of Sita. When Rama asked Lakshmana to fetch some water, Lakshmana shot an arrow into the Brahmagiri Range and that marked the origin of River Lakshmanthirta. The river, of course, is named after this legend.
NAGARAHOLE NATIONAL PARK AND TIGER RESERVE
Nagarhole National Park also knows as Rajiv Gandhi National Park is located in the two districts of Karnataka, namely Mysore and Kodagu. This park was declared the thirty seventh Project Tiger, Tiger reserves of India in 1999. It is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Bengal Tiger, Indian Leopard, Sloth Bear, Striped Hyena are the predators that can be spotted in the park.. Herbivores like Elephants, Chital, Sambar Deer, and Barking Deer is also spotted around the national park.
BARAPOLE WHITE WATER RAFTING (SEASONAL)
The Barapole river is the perfect setting for rafting in Coorg. The river is flanked by beautiful landscapes & scenery and the rapids are excellent for rafting. Barapole is the least known of Karnataka’s white water rafting destinations. Barapole is set on the banks of the Kithu Kakathu River in Coorg.
